This upcoming week is exciting – between Halloween and a new month starting, there is a lot going on in the Valley! Enjoy the awesome events that are coming up for the week, and enjoy the cooler weather, too!

Wednesday, October 31

– Crescent Ballroom is hosting their 8th annual costume ball, featuring two stages of music, drink specials, a costume contest and more. Tickets are between $12-15 and the event starts at 7 pm.

– It’s EMO Night over at the Rebel Lounge, featuring a costume contest where you can win tickets to a range of shows. Hear your favorite emo music from My Chemical Romance to Dashboard Confessional. Tickets are between $5-10, starts at 9 pm.

Thursday, November 1

Head over to Paz Cantina starting at 4 pm to enjoy Thursday night football and happy hour specials until 6 pm, which include $2 off drafts and $6 mules among others.

– Ready to talk writing? Join fellow literary enthusiasts over at Valley Bar for this month’s “Get Lit” session, an intimate gathering where people exchange ideas and thoughts on a topic. This month’s topic is “Sing a Song,” – discussing the process of songwriting and poetry among others. The free event starts at 7pm.

Friday, November 2

– Downtown Scottsdale is celebrating Dia de Los Muertos, with community, theatre, and art. Learn about the rituals and observances that take place during the celebration of life, enjoy food, music, dance, altar displays, art, and more. The event takes place from 4-10pm and offers free admission.

– Another Dia de Los Muertos celebration is taking place at Cookie Brokers – head over starting at 7 pm for a “Cookies and Coco” celebration, which features a showing of the movie Coco on the patio. There will be food trucks, face painting, art, and much more. Free – but bring your own chairs and blankets.

Saturday, November 3

– Head over to Antique Sugar for a “Tiny Flea” market in their parking lot from 8am-2pm. Expect to see a variety of goods, including home décor, art, knick-knacks, and clothing for great prices!

– The Universal Cultural Organization is presenting the AZ Night Market, which allows the community to experience different cultures through food, drink, music, and more. Admission is $5, and the event runs from 5-11pm.

Sunday, November 4

– North Mountain Brewing presents the “Blues, Brews, and Arts Festival” starting at 11 am. There will be a ton of great blues musicians gracing the stage starting at 11:30 am, as well as arts and crafts vendors to browse. Of course, there will be craft beers to enjoy too. Admission is $15.

– Southern Rail is hosting a night of Live Jazz on the patio. Enjoy the beautiful weather along with jambalaya and Sazerac specials, as well as ½ off bottles of AZ wine. Reservations are recommended – request the patio to be near the music.

Monday, November 5

– American rapper and songwriter Duckworth is heading over to Valley Bar for a show as a part of his Falling Man Tour starting at 8 pm. Tickets start at $17.

– The Historic Grand Ave arts community needs your help to design, paint, and hang Grand Ave Festival signs for the upcoming 10th Anniversary of the Grand Avenue Festival. There will be light refreshments and drinks. Starts at 7 pm.

Tuesday, November 6

– Want to be surrounded by community during the results of the 2018 election? Crescent Ballroom is hosting an election watch get-together where you can hang out in the lounge and enjoy food and drinks with your neighbors. Starts at 5 pm.
