Working Out Doesn’t Have to Feel Like a Chore. Switch It Up With One of These Fun Workout Classes Around the Valley

While working out sometimes gets a bad rep for being exhausting, overwhelming or even boring, there’s something empowering about moving your body and getting your sweat on. Plus, it’s great for your health! If you’re anything like us, lifting weights at the local gym alone day in and day out might not be your cup of tea, but working out doesn’t have to feel like a chore. Try out one of these fun, alternative classes that will bring positivity back to your workouts and leave you feeling energized and full of endorphins.

Party on a Bike

The Madison Tempe, The Madison Scottsdale, The Madison Improvement Club (Arcadia)

The Party on a Bike experience puts all other spin classes to shame with its welcoming community, infectiously positive vibe and incredibly difficult workouts that always leave room for growth and improvement. If you decide to ride, expect a true party with blaring music, flashing colored lights and lots of choreography that will not only improve your strength, but will add fun and excitement to your class.

Barefoot Bootcamp

Tru Fusion (North Scottsdale)

Lo and A-Rod are Tru Fusion fans who regularly attend the Barefoot Bootcamp at the studio’s headquarters in Las Vegas, so if it’s good enough for them, it’s definitely good enough for us. The high intensity class combines cardio and strength training with kettlebells, dumbbells, resistance bands and bodyweight. Plus, the entire class is heated to 95 degrees with 45 percent humidity so you’ll definitely break a sweat.

Buti Yoga

Zen Soul Studio (Scottsdale)

Buti Yoga is the latest yoga fad that’s taking over the nation, and for good reason. It’s far from your average, slow-paced flow, incorporating tribal dance, primal movement and intense bursts of cardio to tone your entire body. At Zen Soul Studio, you can try your hand at the traditional Buti technique, or try the Buti Flow, which is a slower paced version without the plyometrics.

Strength

Scottsdale Bodi (Old Town Scottsdale)

Scottsdale Bodi has cultivated a (very fit) group of devotees that are die-hard for its high-intensity mix of HIIT, crossfit and cardio classes. Our top pick is Strength, which tones the entire body through HIIT training with an emphasis on strength exercises that increase muscle mass and stamina.

Barre

Barre3 (Several Locations)

If you’ve ever seen a ballet dancer and though, “I could probably do that,” Barre3 is here to prove you very, very wrong. Through small movements, minimal weight and a resistance band, their workouts will change your body by improving balance and posture, burning fat and lengthening your newly developed muscles. Plus, the company’s mission centers around positivity, balance and empowerment, so you’ll leave feeling renewed on the inside, even if your legs are still shaking.
