Thanksgiving is in just a few weeks, so that means pie season is upon us. In order to help you get in the spirit, we’ve put together a list of five of our favorite pie spots in the Phoenix area.

Rock Springs Café

This historic roadside cafe has great, hearty classic American diner fare, complete with some of the best pie you’ll ever encounter. Their world famous pies are well worth the trip north in I-17 to Black Canyon City, whether for dine-in or to go at their standalone pie shop The Pie Box, opened next door to the cafe in 2019. Favorite slices include their pecan pie, their apple crumb pie, and the decadent chocolate cream pie. For Arizonans missing a taste of home, they’ll ship their pies anywhere in the country through their store online, so you’ll never have to go without. 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. 35900 Old Black Canyon Hwy, Black Canyon City, AZ; rockspringscafe.com // @rockspringscafe

PIEfection

With two locations in the Valley of the Sun, one in Mesa and one in Scottsdale, and a third spot in Chandler coming soon, PIEfection has begun their slow creep towards global domination. They pride themselves on pies made fresh in-house daily and are catered towards walk-in customers, which has helped them establish a reputation as having one of the largest inventories of pies in America at any given moment. With a stacked menu ranging from classic pies like French silk and Southern pecan to more out-there options like mint brownie and peanut butter dream, as well as a surprising range of savory options, there’s something new to try every visit to PIEfection. 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sweet Provisions

A bakery, ice cream, and sweet shop, Sweet Provisions is a must-try for anyone with a taste for dessert. In addition to traditional treats like an old-school banana split and wholesome milkshakes, they offer a la mode pies and bars, combining two of their menu faves: their fresh churned ice cream and their scratch-made pies. 12-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 12-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 8120 N Hayden Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85258. sweetprovisionsaz.com // @sweetprovisionsaz

Pie Snob

This bakery grew from modest roots as a home-based operation, selling pies to friends and family, to a three-location local institution, while maintaining the handmade touch that made them special way back when. Their newest location in Chandler recently launched a new 24-hour self-service pie ATM, allowing no craving to go unfulfilled for pie lovers throughout the Phoenix area. Menu highlights include their Southwestern-inspired green chile apple crumb, a powerful bourbon pecan, and zesty key lime pie. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday; Multiple locations. piesnob.com // @piesnob

Mamma Toledo’s Pie Hole

What started as a well-loved pie-themed food truck that started in 2011 has since opened a permanent brick-and-mortar location to support the demand that has grown for their well-prepared confections. This is another labor of love that grew out of the passion felt and skill displayed by an amateur baker whose undeniable pies have become a local staple. With a menu that now offers savory breakfast items like biscuit sandwiches and hand pies, in addition to a roster of dozens of handmade pies like brown sugar peach, sweet potato pecan, and white chocolate macadamia nut. 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday; 15414 N 7th St. Ste. 6 Phoenix, AZ; mammatoledos.com // @mammatoledos
