We’re back with another rundown of five high quality art exhibitions happening in the Phoenix area this month, from group shows featuring new work from local artists to a unique multimedia exhibition looking back at a very strange American fashion trend.

“The Space Between Us” at Modified Arts

The closing reception of photographic group show “The Space Between Us” happens December 10th at Modified Arts, and is your last chance to see this showcase of work from photographers like Kent Meister, Valerie J. Bower, and Shaunté Glover. These works are united by their exploration of the redefinition of post-pandemic social relationships, meditating on how the last few years have impacted how we relate with others. “Ed Moses: Broken Loose” at Bentley Gallery

This collection of work from Southern California postwar abstract artist Ed Moses is the first exhibition at the Bentley Gallery’s new space in Downtown Phoenix. The show is a career-spanning survey of his various styles and periods, offering a holistic and comprehensive overview of the work of one of the foremost artists of his time. “Textures of Arizona” at Chandler Center for the Arts

A collection of landscape designs from members of the Telaraña Fiber Arts Guild, Textures of Arizona pays tribute to our home state through a variety of images crafted over the last two years. This limited time only exhibition at opens December 17th and runs until early February, so be sure to stop in and take a look. Generation Paper: Fast Fashion of the 1960s at the Phoenix Art Museum

This yearlong exhibition comes to a close this month at the Ellman Fashion Design Gallery at the Phoenix Art Museum, a look back at the short-lived paper dress trend of the 1960s. Invitational Group Exhibit at Herberger Theater Center 

Curated by Connie and A O Tucker, the Herberger Theater Center’s Invitational Group Show features photography, painting, and sculpted works from Arizona artists who have at one time or another exhibited in the Theater’s galleries. This retrospective collection has work from 16 artists from around the state, and, if something catches your eye, all pieces are available for purchase.
