Forfeit Policy

It is the team captain’s responsibility to notify PHX Fray staff at least 24 hours before the start of their game time if their team must forfeit. We will immediately notify the opposing team captain. Our staff will also make a reasonable effort to find another team to play in place of the forfeited team. If a team is found, the game will be played only as a recreational game and it will not count towards the non-forfeiting team’s record. The non-forfeiting team will receive the win and the forfeiting team will take the loss.

An “unannounced forfeit” is one that falls within the 24 hour time frame before a scheduled game, or if a team simply does not show up. The following rules may apply for forfeiting teams:

First Offense: Loss of game and warning issued.

Second Offense: Loss of game and staff reserves the right to remove team from playoffs.

Third Offense: Loss of game, removal from the playoffs and additional penalties may result including indefinite expulsion from the league and future programs.

**Notified forfeits are always looked upon more favorably than un-notified ones and no shows (but are still a bummer to EVERYONE). This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

** Please note that we reserve the right to make adjustments in the league throughout the season as we see fit in order to work in the league’s best interest.
