Last Wednesday, the energy was high, and the dinks were dangerously good at PHX Fray’s 2025 Remix Pickleball Tournament at Camelback High School. What started as a battle for bragging rights turned into an all-out rally fest—complete with unexpected injuries, surprise substitutions, and a city commissioner thrown into the chaos.

A Championship… with a Twist

After a series of competitive matchups, the final game came down to two standout teams: All Aces and Phoenix Firebirds. But as fate (and ankles) would have it, we ran out of time before the final showdown could be settled—thanks to a couple of mid-game injuries and a lot of water breaks.

So what did we do? We declared both teams co-champions. Congrats to Rob and Kendall (who subbed in for an injured Lloyd from All Aces) and Alexander and Ankit from the Phoenix Firebirds for holding it down and keeping the energy alive to the end.

Shoutout to Kendall for stepping up and crushing it, and to Lloyd—we hope you’re back on the court soon!

Yep. That was Hilary, our very own city commissioner, getting thrown into the mix like a champ. In her own words?
